KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC FC: NEWSKidsgrove Athletic 2 Crewe Alexandra 3Kidsgrove put in another good display in their latest pre-season friendly but were defeated by a strong Crewe side courtesy of a Calvin Zola hat trick. After Crewe took the lead from a Zola penalty, Kidsgrove equalised through Dave Walker and went into half time level with the League Two side at 1-1. Another Zola penalty just after the restart resored Crewe's advantage and the Railwaymen extended their lead as Zola completed his hat-trick on 57 minutes. Liam Shotton hit back for Kidsgrove six minutes later, but despite some late pressure, there was to be no equaliser. Depsite the result, Kidsgrove will take heart from another encouraging performance against higher league oppostition.
