Kidsgrove Athletic 4 Glapwell 0

Kidsgrove exacted some revenge for last season's play off semi-final defeat with a comprehensive win over Glapwell at the Seddon Stadium. The visitors arrived fresh from an opening day victory over Market Drayton, but had no answer as Kidsgrove picked up from where they left off on Saturday.

The home side were ahead on 14 minutes when Danny Smith expertly glanced Ricky Bridge's cross into the net. As the dominant attacking force, Kidsgrove continued to press and on 43 minutes Dave Walker latched on to Tim Sanders' volleyed through ball and clinically beat the keeper. In the second half Walker himself earned a penalty which he confidently converted on 54 minutes and Sanders capped a fine perfomance when he beat the wall and goalkeeper direct from a free-kick a minute before the end.

Kidsgrove are now one of four teams to have won their opeing two games along with Barwell, Newcastle Town and Grantham Town.

Team: Intihar, Smith, Dove, Ward, Schwarz, Beasley, Matranga, Sanders, Walker, Shotton (Pointon), Bridge (McGaw). Unused subs: Urwin, Harper
